Internet Based Testing
GetCheckedOnline is a service provided by the Clinical Prevention Services Division at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), as part of the Provincial Health Services Authority. GetCheckedOnline offers internet-based testing for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis C, and acts as a “virtual clinic” for the provincial STI clinic located at BCCDC.
The goals of GetCheckedOnline are:
- To improve sexual health by increasing uptake and frequency of testing, leading to more timely diagnosis
- To reach populations at greater risk of infection and who face barriers to accessing testing
- To increase STI clinic capacity
